Coco coir (also called coco peat or soil) comes from Swell Reptiles in a 10l bag and can be used as a substrate for any rainforest set-up, including frog and gecko enclosures, as well as a peat-free compost potting mix for planting. Alternatively, the coco coir can be mixed with sand to create an ideal environment for digging species like monitors. Coco coir can even be used in bioactive enclosures, giving your clean-up crew their own little ecosystem to live in. Often, coco coir is thrown away as a waste product of the coconut industry. By using it in your enclosure you'll be helping to cut down on waste, all while providing your pet with a substate that they'll love. This coco coir comes ready to use or store. To use, simply settle the soil in your vivarium or terrarium, there's no need to add any water, unless you wish to increase the humidity.
