What is Swell Planted Aquarium Iron? Swell Planted Aquarium Iron is a type of fertiliser that contains ferrous gluconate and has a high concentration of 20,000 mg/l. This makes it easy for plants to absorb and get more benefits and nutrients from it than from other types of iron fertilisers. Swell Planted Aquarium Iron is especially useful for plants with red leaves, such as Alternanthera reineckii, Ludwigia arquata, and Rotala macrandra, but it can also be used on green plants like Myriophyllum, Heteranthera zosterifolia, Echinodorus macrophyllus, Pogostemon, Limnophila, Hygrohila, and Bacopa. Iron is an important element in many metabolic and enzymatic processes in plants, and it helps to strengthen chlorophyll, which promotes photosynthesis and the development of other pigments like carotenoids. The absorption of iron in plants is affected by the levels of other nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as by the pH level and the intensity and duration of light.
