What is Swell Aquarium Bioactive Pearls? Swell Aquarium Bioactive Pearls is a liquid product containing a concentrated biological culture of slow-release bacteria and enzymes. It is intended for use in freshwater only and is suitable for tropical fish and coldwater tanks. What are the benefits of this media? Eliminates nitrite, ammonia, and toxins from fish waste. Reduces organic waste and helps keep the water pure and clear. Promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the filter. Is suitable for use as a starter for the biological filter. Maintains existing bacteria. How do you use this media? To activate the biological filter or as a starter: Add 1 teaspoon of the product for every 10 litres of water and use it for 10 days. For filter maintenance: Add 1 teaspoon of the product for every 25 litres of water twice a week and insert directly into the filter. For use in tanks without a filter: Add 100ml or 100g of the product for every 10 litres of water with 4-6 goldfish that are 3-4cm each, once a month, directly into the water. Replace 50% of the water once a month. Replenish the product as needed and replace it every month depending on the aquarium population.
